    Women’s Resource Center, Second Saturday

On June 12th, Girlfriends Care Second Saturday brunch was held at Women’s Resource Center in Oceanside. WRC provides intervention and prevention programs to assist victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.  The program featured a walking tour of the residential facilities and explanation of services by Director of Residential Services Lindsay Samson.

GFC is sponsoring a “Kitchen Shower” to supply new and gently used items to set up transitional apartments for new client families.  Our collection continues so let us know if you want to make a donation. Thank you to Donna Ware, GFC Liaison to WRC, for making arrangements for this meeting.

    You have made a difference!

Gals and Girlfriends….You have made a difference!

Project Coordinator Diana Hanes delivered a turkey and all the fixin’s to Nettie’s House to provide Thanksgiving and a Homecoming for the 17 women and 8 children in this transitional residence.  We want to “Shout Out” a Special Thank You to all the Girlfriends and Good Ol’ Gals who donated food or funds to make this a wonderful holiday for these women who are working to get back on their feet.  Thank you Diana, for your loving attention to detail as you coordinated the collection and delivery.

Founder Nettie Nelson, who is also a Girlfriend and Good Ol’ Gal, sends us this message I cannot express the sincere gratitude that we have for what the women from Girlfriends Care and Good Ol’ Gals did.  It was more than we could have ever expected.  Diana did a wonderful job coordinating with Helene who was assigned to coordinate from the residence side.  This was a double blessing for Helene because this whole processing made her feel valued and raised her self-esteem.  I couldn’t go another moment without telling you all how much I love and appreciate you all.  Diana was incredible.  If there is ever anything Nettie’s House can do, just let me know. Hugs with happy tears to you all.  Nettie.Founder Nettie Nelson, who is also a Girlfriend and Good Ol’ Gal, sends us this message I cannot express the sincere gratitude that we have for what the women from Girlfriends Care and Good Ol’ Gals did.
