Outstanding women applauded by local Soroptimists

ENCINITAS, Soroptimist International of North Coast San Diego held its annual fundraiser, “Women Making a Difference” May 1 at It the Encinitas Community Center.
Honorees were Gini Craig receiving the “Making a Difference for Women” award; Leilani Perrelli receiving the “Women’s Opportunity” award and Kelsey Crowe receiving the “Violet Richardson” award.
In 2005, Craig led the formation of Girlfriends Care, Inc. This nonprofit is dedicated to filling the basic needs of women and children in crisis and transition in our local communities. By connecting volunteers with meaningful outreach projects, this group provides food, clothing, training, job search assistance, encouragement and love as they actively support and promote self-sufficiency and spiritual well being for all women.
